The Role of Faith in Soul
Winning
Traveling evangelists
say that everywhere they go people will say to them, “This area is
the hardest area to evangelize.”
The size of your
vision for the lost will reflect the size of your faith. If you see
yourself as a soulwinner winning hundreds and hundreds to the Lord, that
vision will reflect the greatness of your faith. On the other hand, if your
vision is limited to winning one soul in your lifetime, you’ve dwarfed the
Body of Christ and your faith will be dwarfed as well.
We need to use our
faith to get souls like we use our faith for everything else. We need to use
our faith to win souls, just as for the healing of body’s or prospering of
finances. Mark 11:23-24 is one of the greatest keys to praying for the
harvest. On judgment day, you don’t want God to say, “You used your faith
for a new car, but why didn’t you use it for souls?”
Faith is required so
you will believe God can save the person to whom you are witnessing. We live
by faith and not by sight. It may not look like a person wants to be saved,
but being full of the Holy Spirit will enable to see beyond outward
appearances.
God can change a
person’s life in a moment of time—look at the Apostle Paul. Being filled
with the Holy Spirit will also fill you with the confidence to believe that
God can save anyone through you and that God can use your talents and
abilities.
It’s not possible to
focus on yourself and stay in strong faith. Unbelief and fear are need
conscious and self-conscious, but faith is God-conscious.
Sinners have a
tendency to respond the exact same way you come across. If you witness with
uneasiness, they’ll respond in alike manner. If you think you’re going to
turn them off, you probably will. When you witness with unbelief and
nervousness the sinner will scarcely believe what you are telling them.
Sinners ponder, “If it is really that good, then why aren’t you more excited
about it?”
You will always get
exactly what you believe for. Jesus said, "According to your faith be it
unto you "(Matt. 9:29).
You
can’t walk by feelings and be a successful soul winner, for it you are
walking by feelings, then your flesh, not your spirit is dominating you.
Feelings are the voice of your flesh!
And you can’t walk by
reason and be a successful soul winner either, because reason is the voice
of your mind.
To be a successful
soul winner you must walk by faith, because faith is of the spirit. Walking
by faith is listening to the Greater One on the inside of you and walking in
line with the Word of God.
You need to be so
convinced that God will save the person you are witnessing to, or praying
for, that you would be shocked if they
didn’t
get saved.
